Wire rods - made by hot rolling of billets ¡V are processed into bolts, nuts, screws, and threaded bars. They are also processed into various steel wires, including fine wires, extra-fine wires, mesh wires, spring wires, kitchen wires, strip nail wires, welding wires, and wires for electronics and ironware parts. Moreover, wire rods are the material for cold-drawn bars.
Walsin Lihwa's annual capacity of wire rods is 140,000 tons, the highest of the world. The company's complete supply chain encompasses America, Europe, Korea, Japan, Mainland China, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, as well as emerging markets in East Europe and Russia.
Walsin Lihwa's Yan Shui plant supplies wire rod sizes from 5.5 mm to 35.0 mm, and products include steel grades of Austenitic 200 and 300 series as well as Ferritic and Martensitic 400 series, meeting American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) requirements and also providing welding wire rods in accordance with American Welding Society (AWS) specifications. Moreover, Walsin Lihwa provides a number of dimensions of super-finish coil by shaving based on customers' special processing requirements.
